David has over 20 years of leadership experience in the RF and wireless technology marketplace. He has a broad operational background and a deep understanding of the challenges involved with the development of new technologies. He is passionate about business development and working with teams to take leading edge ideas to market.


Ahmed El-Rayis, PhD
COO & Co-Founder

Ahmed is co-founder of Sofant and co-inventor of Sofant technologies. With expertise in wireless communication and antenna control, he has more than 15 years of business and industrial experience, having worked in electronic and space fields globally. Ahmed has held both technical and business development positions with Mentor Graphics Corporation, Ellipsis Digital Systems and Ukrainian space agency.


Tughrul Arslan, PhD
Chief Scientist & Co-Founder

Tughrul Arslan has held the Chair of Integrated electronic Systems at the University of Edinburgh. Arslan is an internationally recognized researcher in the design of low power systems and reconfigurable technology. He has been involved in two Proof of Concept projects concluded with a successful formation of 2 companies. He is co-inventor of a number of Sofant patents. Since 1989 he has carried out research into low power system architectures, ranging from circuits to sensors, and reconfigurable technology. He has authored more than 300 journal and conference articles.


Nakul Haridas
R&D Manager

As R&D Manager, Dr Haridas is responsible for the development of Sofant current and future RF MEMS technologies in accordance with market needs. Nakul brings with him experience in the MEMS technology and antenna design.

Nakul is a co-founder of Sofant and co-inventor on Sofant's patents. He has industry experience having worked for Micro World Software, Phoenix Telecom Pvt. Ltd, National Panasonic India, Terna EDA Centre.


Elizabeth Kennedy
Chairperson and Non Executive Director, Kelvin Capital

Elizabeth has a long career in corporate finance, mainly with Brewin Dolphin, and holds a number of other non executive appointments, two with listed companies.



Tony Lear
Non Executive Director, Scottish Investment Bank (SIB)

An accomplished international executive with over 40 years of experience in the electronics and semiconductor industries. He is a member of the Board of Directors at Fairchild Semiconductor (NASDAQ exchange).





Andrea Young
Observer, Old College Capital (OCC)

Andrea Young is the Fund Manager for OCC. She has spent the last 10 years working in the early stage market in Scotland managing funds and working directly with companies. Andrea has over 20 years’ experience working in the financial sector for Royal Bank of Scotland and Deutsche Bank in London, and Scottish Investment Bank in Scotland.
